These manuscripts must include a Title Page, Abstract, Statement of Novelty, Introduction, Functional and Clinical Presentation, and References. Novel mutation manuscripts may be up to 10 pages long (excluding title page, abstract, figures, tables, and references) and may include up to 5 figures and up to 3 tables.

Issue Images

Exceptional images may be submitted. The images may cover a wide range of subjects from immunodeficiency-related basic science to clinical imaging (CT, MRI, etc.). Manuscripts accompanying exceptional images must include an Introduction, Methods, Extended Figure Legends, and Discussion. Where possible, all findings must be clearly demonstrated on the images using arrows.

Protocols, Guidelines, and Classifications

Protocols describe new products or modalities of treatment (e.g., IgG replacement, HSCT, gene therapy, or others), practice guidelines, or algorithms. Protocols must include an Abstract. They may be up to 20 pages long (excluding title page, abstract, figures, tables, and references) and may include up to 5 figures and up to 10 tables. Style Guide for Manuscripts

Title Page

Article titles should

  • contain important descriptive phrases that relate to the topic
  • be clear and concise
  • include specific synonyms, conditions, interventions, mechanisms, or functions of the article’s central focus
  • contain terms that are specific, rather than general, and include terms that clarify

The title must be followed by:

  • the list of authors, including their full names and institutional affiliations
  • the name, address, telephone number, fax number, and email address of the corresponding senior author
  • a declaration of all sources of funding for the research reported in the manuscripts

Abstract

Abstracts should be structured as follows: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion

Statement of Novelty

A Statement of Novelty is required for original articles and novel mutations. It should be 1–3 sentences that explicitly state the novel aspects of the work.

Text

The manuscript must be written in clear and concise English, using proper grammar. Authors whose primary language is not English should consult a colleague fluent in English or utilize the services of a professional editor. Revision of manuscripts solely for language-related reasons may result in unnecessary delays in the publication process. Each section of the manuscript should begin on a new page. Up to date nomenclature should be used for descriptions of genes and proteins.

Methods

Experiments Involving Animals

Authors who describe experiments on animals are required to give assurance in the Methods section that appropriate standards (institutional or national) for animal care were upheld.

Patient consent

Authors whose articles contain any information concerning individual patients must obtain and archive written consent from the patient(s) to publish this information in LymphoSign Journal. Authors are also required to provide assurance in the Methods section that appropriate standards for human experimentation have been followed, that the experiment has been reviewed and approved by their institution’s ethics committee, and that informed consent was given prior to participating in the study.

References

In the text, references must be cited by author and date, e.g., Smith (2007) or (Smith 2007), depending on the sentence structure. A complete alphabetical list of the references cited must be included at the end of the manuscript. References to other publications must be carefully checked for completeness, accuracy, and consistency (e.g., page ranges, volume numbers, and dates).
